Professor (Hon) A S Vijay Kumar (FRCS) is a qualified Surgeon (Edinburgh) and has further experience in Strasbourg, France, Boston, San Diego, California USA. He has also worked previously operating on breast and bowel cancer patients in the West Country. Clinical Director for North Doncaster practices – Primary Care Network (PCN) 

Our Nursing Team

The practice nurse is available by appointment.

Their numerous tasks include:

  • Cervical smears
  • Clinics to monitor blood pressure, asthma, diabetes, heart disease
  • Baby immunisations
  • New patient checks
  • Travel advice and immunisations
  • Influenza/pneumonia vaccinations
  • Contraceptive advice
  • Minor illness clinic
  • Well man/woman clinics
  • Flu immunisation clinics
  • Phlebotomy clinics

These clinics run 5 days a week in the mornings for blood tests. For such blood tests as ‘Cholesterol Blood Test’ and ‘Fasting Glucose Blood Test’ you will be requested to “Fast” from 12 midnight, please contact reception for more advice.

We have in house pharmacists and pharmacist technicians that can assist with all medication queries and changes.

Community Nurses

The district nurse team consists of both qualified and auxiliary nurses caring for housebound patients seven days a week and offers a full range of services.

Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

A baby clinic is held at the surgery on a two weekly basis on a Friday morning.
